The Project
Over a 10-year partnership, our agency managed the comprehensive marketing communications and digital presence for Volvo Cars Finland. The scope spanned full omnichannel campaign execution—integrating TV, print, digital display, and POS—alongside continuous digital product stewardship, local social media strategy, dealer alignment workshops, and multiple major site renewals for volvocars.fi to align with global platform migrations.
My Role
Starting in a junior digital role handling web design, site updates and banner ads, I grew into an Art Director and Lead Visual Designer in the account. Working alongside a senior team of with copywriter, additional designers, and project a manager, I helped co-pitch and win the full 360° marketing communications account for our agency.
- Omnichannel Visual Direction: Partnered with copywriters and creative teams to concept and execute visual direction for 5–6 major nationwide campaigns per year across print, TV, digital media, and event collateral.
- Website Management & Major Renewals: Managed volvocars.fi over a decade, leading visual design, site structure, and content alignment through 5 major site overhauls and global platform migrations.
- Social Media & Customer Communications: Developed Volvo’s local social media strategy to align with global brand guidelines, managed channel launches, and created ongoing print/digital newsletters and offer material.
- Dealer Network Alignment: Designed POS materials and customer communications for regional dealerships, and facilitated design workshops with dealer teams to maintain nationwide brand consistency.
Why It Matters
Sustaining a premium brand’s market position over a decade requires balancing strict global brand guidelines with local commercial agility. Growing within an account from execution tasks to shaping 360° creative campaigns demonstrates long-term client trust, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional creative teams across every physical and digital touchpoint.
The Client
Volvo Cars Finland is (was at the time) a leading premium automotive brand in Finland, consistently holding a ~7% market share as one of the country’s top five most sold car brands during my decade-long tenure with the brand.
